Elisabeth ROCHAT DE LA VALLÉE

Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée is born in Parijs in 1949.

She obtained Master Degrees in classics, literature and philosophy and a Diplôme d'études approfondies in Chinese. In 1970 she collaborated with Father Claude Larre and studied Chinese language. From 1974-1975 she stayed in Taiwan where she studied contemporary Chinese at the Hsin-chu Language Institute. From 1976 she, in cooperation with Father Claude Larre and Dr. Jean Schatz, started analysing Chinese thinking  and on classical medical texts.


Since then Elisabeth teaches Chinese thinking at the het Ricci-Instituut in Paris, where she became Secretaris General,  and the theoretical basis of  Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Ecole européenne d'Acupuncture.  At the moment she also teaches ancient Chinese Philosophy (specially on the Taoist texts), Classical Chinese and Traditional Chinese Medicine at various schools and universities in more than 14 countries.


She has written several books and articles, that have been published in French, English and Italian and is a member of many leading organizations.
